Just a quick one to say I'm at Mark Corrie's Urban Cafe, Bangalow, after a hard day's ride. I have started taking GPS readings for the map and I'm making a list of the main stops so far, so you can add the others in. Sent a message to Dan Joyce of Cycling Plus magazine to say I've received his emails. I'll send you a draft in the next few days.The cycling is going brilliantly. Australia is incredible and I'm loving it. Shame you can't come out for Christmas as the weather is great. I have met so many people and have been invited for Christmas with an Aussie. It all depends on where am really. I have met the odd cyclist here and there but we are few and far between so I get plenty of interest wherever I go.
I am currently re evaluating the time scale and deciding where to cut into the outback. Australia redifines the word vast! Have I said that before? I'll be here till the morning probably, then I'm off to Byron Bay, a mere 13kms away! Got your phone message so I'll hang around there till the seat post arrives. Please thank Security Despatch. As the campsite is right on the beach I don't think I'll be twidling my thumbs! Saw my first wild Kangaroo today! Thanks to everyone for all the 'Homebase' work, which I really appreciate. I am overcoming the communication technical problems.
The rain continues to fall dramatically all around. I went for an invigorating run on the beach yesterday evening, refreshed by the wind and rain.
A quick little Australianism I overheard: Don't play the raw prawn with me, sonny!!
translates as: Don't act Mr Innocent with me, son!!
