Townsville, January 2nd, 1999
The weather is terrible at the moment. Lots of rain. In fact, the road to
Mount Isa (on the way to Darwin) is flooded. I am in Townsville after a
couple of days on Magnetic Island. Lots of Yoga and New Year celebrations.
Everything is shut and I am waiting till tomorrow to begin the cycle up to
Cairns, which should take 3 to 4 days. I should be be there around the 6th
and will be in the area for a good few days. A bus from there to Darwin
costs around 230$ and takes maybe 40 hrs. My sources tell me a boat from
there to Indo should not be a problem. Should be in Indonesia within a few
weeks. Plan to give the bike a last service in Cairns. Hope everyone is
well and you had a fun 1998/99
